In the 200+ years that Schizophrenia has been diagnosed, experts still don't know the exact why's and how's of this disorder. Only varying hypotheses. My best stab in the dark is that the symptoms don't manifest until late teens/early adulthood because this is the time when the ego/personality starts to really express itself. I have a question about this: if S. is thought to be caused by an early developmental fragmentation, then why doesn’t it typically manifest until late teens/early twenties?
